Фото: SHUTTERSTOCK The Central Bureau of Statistics publishes the consumer price index for June 2025, and it continues to rise. The index increased by 0.3% compared to May. Behind the general data, there is a trend that is noticeable in the wallet: a sharp increase in prices for vacations and travel.
Among the notable categories of the index, there was a significant increase of7.1% in prices for hospitality, leisure and excursions in the country, together with an increase of4.5% in prices for travel abroad, and both of these categories are the main contributors to the monthly increase in the index. These articles together contribute more than 0.14 points to the overall index, which is a significant indicator.
In addition, prices for hotels and guesthouses jumped by 8.1%, while tour packages, hostels and rural tourism increased by 3.2%.
Along with the sharp increase in vacation prices, there was also a 2.1% increase in prices for internet services needed for travel planning and a 1.2% increase in car rentals. All this makes the summer especially expensive for families planning a vacation, both in Israel and abroad.
And what else has changed in June? Food and fresh vegetable prices rose 0.7%; housing has risen in price by 0.5%; transport and communications increased by 0.4%; Healthcare has risen in price by 0.3%.
On the other hand, clothing prices fell by 4.5%, fresh fruits rose unevenly, but decreased by 2.5% in total.
In annual terms, the consumer price index increased by 3.3% in June 2025 compared to June 2024, which continues to indicate inflationary pressures, albeit less significant than in the past two years.
